Places for meeting singles vary a lot from city to city and also depending on the type of single man or woman you are hoping to meet.
One of the easiest way to meet singles in your city is to go to places where singles spend their time.

But not suprisingly the vast majority of singles assume this is not the best places to meet other singles and often feel if they have tried it once and failed to meet anyone that it’s a dud method and look to other ways to meet. After all standing around in a public place does look a little creepy and might make you feel a little uncomfortable.
The problem with trying to meet other singles you are afraid of failure and that is the crux of the matter the more unsuccesful you become the more anxious you get and feel and the less success you get … It’s a vicious circle.
But don’t panic here is a list of some great places to hook up with other singles and who knows what may develop from there?
Coffee Shops
Yes meeting people in Coffee shops really does work but you need to go about it the right way. Firstly don’t go in an empty coffee shop pick one that is fairly busy and sit as close to the door as possible. Now the you don’t want to look to busy so don’t get your head in a book or sit tapping on your laptop.
Next thing is as people come in the door just say hi (nothing to formal you don’t want to sound like a hotel doorman) you’ll be suprised how people will speak back to you (don’t come over desperate or creepy or just plain wierd keep it very short and simple).
Initially it might seem a bit strange but eventually you’ll feel comfortable with it and who knows it could be the start of something wonderful.
Social Meetings
Try not to become a single recluse go out as much as possible to events and social occasions if you get invited to go out with friends don’t say your too busy or washing your hair.
If you get invited to a family occasion go don’t decline saying you have to work. Make every effort to develop your social contacts and opportunities. If you are with a group of friends who regularly hold parties or dinner parties or go out to restaurants make sure you are there and if need be throw a party yourself and invite all your friends and get them to bring guests.
Hobbies and Special Interest Groups
If you love doing something and want to meet men or women who enjoy the same sort of hobbies and pasttimes what better place to meet them than a club dediciated to that specific hobby or pasttime. A special interest group can be anything from the joining your local sports group or supporters club to a photography club or even a book club.
Don’t always assume a group will be male or female orientated I attended a first aid class and met loads of new friends. Quite often if you are the one of few females in a group or males in a group it becomes easier to get conversation going with the opposite sex. Maybe if your worried at being the only girl at an all guy group get a girlfriend to come along with you.
Taking A Night Class Or College Course
Whether you are taking a couple of courses to upgrade, or considering becoming a full-time university student or are passionate about fashion or cooking you’ll find there will be a course somewhere nearby.
The great thing about these sort of places to meet other singles is it seems perfectly natural and provided you don’t become a shrinking violet in the corner it’s a great opportunity to meet other singles and make new friends.
Whilst you may need to take a course to develop your career why not consider taking a class you’d enjoy just for fun like Italian Cookery or Digital Photography that way you’ll get to meet people like the sort of person you want to meet.
Churches and Voluntary Groups
If you think about it churches and voluntary groups are great places to meet as you have a lot in common with other people your age there. If you are a single mom why not volunteer to help the coach with the young ones soccer team or if your a guy why not join and help out the school band or something like that.
Whilst during the activity you might not meet that many people your own age afterwards when the parents come to pick up the kids you can start chatting and making new friends. Try thinking what sort of people will be there and would I enjoy doing that activity as well?
Public Places
There is nothing wrong with meeting new people in public places these can quite literally be anywhere from a visit to the local bookstore to the airport departure lounge. Don’t be afraid to talk to people you don’t know and start a conversation most people are happy to while away the time with idol chat and you could ened up setting up a meet for coffee or drink some time afterwards.
We hav all seen the Romcoms where the girl and guy meet looking round the local art gallery or just sit chating while waiting for a dental appointment in the waiting room the secret is not to be afraid to speak and to get involved in a conversation.
When you think about it there are quite literally hundreds of places you could bemeeting other single people of the age and sex you are looking for you just have to apply a little imagination and lateral thinking.
